I Hear a Sound from Heaven!

Sis. Joyce Elele | President, Northern Virginia Chapter

African Christian Fellowship, USA

Beloved brethren,

As we draw nearer to our “Operation: Revive and Restore” experience, the Spirit of the Lord whispered this in my heart and I heard…

“I Hear a sound from Heaven, it’s the sound of many waters.”

It is the sound of diverse divine visitations.

It is the sound of a fresh anointing.

It is the sound of revival and restoration.

It is the sound of the King appearing in the congregation of His people. The Apostle John describing this  heavenly sound wrote:

“And I heard a voice from heaven, like the sound of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder…” (Revelation 14:2)

Likewise, on the Day of Pentecost:

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.” (Acts 2:2)

The sound came from heaven before the fire fell. The sound came before the empowerment of the disciples. The sound came before the harvest of souls. Heaven announced what God was about to do. That sound is here for ACF East Region! We are about to have a “Holy Ghost Feast”!

The sound of many waters speaks of the majesty, authority, and manifest presence of God!  It’s the sound of glory! It’s the sound of heaven reaching earth. Revival will bring dead things back to life and dry bones will live again.

Yet the Scripture teaches us that revival is not accidental. Throughout the Book of Acts, the disciples positioned themselves for divine visitation.

1. They Held Fast to the Promise

Before Pentecost, the disciples anchored their hearts on the word of God.

“Wait for the Promise of the Father.” (Acts 1:4)

Revival begins when believers take God at His Word. Let us come to this conference believing that God is not only able but that He will revive, restore, heal, empower, and transform our lives, our fellowship with him, relationships,  homes, destinies, families, marriages, academics, etc.

2. They Waited with Expectation

The disciples were not merely passing time. They waited with anticipation for what God had promised. Let us all come expectant to the “Operation: Revive and Restore” conference.

“They all continued with one accord…” (Acts 1:14)

May we refuse every casual spirit, every spirit of distraction and approach this gathering with holy expectation. Our hungry hearts will attract heaven’s visitation.

3. They Continued in Prayer

The upper room was saturated with prayer before it was filled with power.

“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication.” (Acts 1:14)

Every genuine revival has been preceded by praying people. Let us continue to prepare through prayer, fasting, repentance, and renewed consecration.  If you have not taken time to do this…please go ahead and pray even in the last weeks leading up to the conference!

4. They Walked in Unity

When Pentecost came, the disciples were gathered together in one accord.

“When the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.” (Acts 2:1)

Unity creates an atmosphere where God commands His blessing. Let us lay aside offenses, divisions, and distractions and pursue the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Go ahead and reach out to anyone that has offended you.

5. They Were Available to God

The disciples surrendered themselves completely to God’s purpose.

They did not know exactly how God would move, but they made themselves available. Revival often comes to those who simply present themselves before the Lord and say, “Here am I.” Are you available? Have we put our individual desires above God’s corporate desire for ACF East Region?

Prepare!!! I hear a sound from heaven…Sound of Many waters!

Beloved of God, the sound from heaven did not come to spectators. It came to seekers.

It came to people who were waiting.

It came to people who were praying.

It came to people who were united.

It came to people who were hungry for God.

The Psalmist declared:

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.”
(Psalm 42:1-2)

Likewise, the prophet Isaiah proclaimed:

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters.”
(Isaiah 55:1)

Let us therefore come and drink deep and as John 7:37 says: He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.”

The African Christian Fellowship East Region will be carriers of the life-giving rivers that bring healing to the Nations!
